U.S. President Donald Trump made it clear he expects Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine and reduce violence in Ukraine, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Tuesday.

How many times did you not vote for Trump?
Such expectations negate his being a puppet.
Such expectations negate his being a puppet.
And on 19 February 1954, Mr. K gave it back to Ukraine.
Which, at the time, was no big deal, because Ukraine was merely a province of the USSR. Like, Is Long Island part of Connecticut or part of New York?
This argument smacks of arguing over whether Gitmo is part of Cuber or not. Clearly, Russia should have no voice in that question!

YES!
No one expected the Soviet Bloc to collapse until Reagan came up with a brilliant strategy for the Cold War. It was “We win, they lose”.
America is the sole superpower in the world and doesn’t need to choose between either walking or chewing gum.
blunt, forceful, direct, smart, take charge.
Yes, there are things that are different too.
I think both of them appear to understand each other’s abilities and accept that.
But you are correct also.
You think the USA is to be paralyzed in foreign policy due to the rollback of Obama failures? So we no longer can have a president and congress that can do domestic and foreign policy at the same time?

You’re calling Trump an idiot?
Tearing down the wall cost Gorbachev politically, but the wall is gone and freedom won.
No, but whomever made that statement set him or herself up for an unattainable goal, which just makes then a target for criticism later.
Never promise what you cannot deliver.
Gorbachev faced problems in the Warsaw Pact that made the non-Russian countries therein uncontrollable. The “’stans” hadn’t been listening to Moscow for 15 years. Germany and Germans wanted the wall down, not Moscow, and Gorby did not have the horsepower to stop them.
Putin faces no such problems. In fact the rise of Russian nationalism is what led him to conduct the Crimean Invasion to deflect unrest over internal economic political problems within Mother Russia.
Russia has no intent, or even political capability to “give back” Crimea. The US and Ukraine do not have the political nor military capability to make them do so, and if we had such political capital, it would be much better spent elsewhere.
For example, to work together to force the PRC to put their North Korean dog back on its leash.
Finally, the local citizenry of Crimea are generally very happy that Russia took over. Granted many are not, but there is no groundswell of public opinion there to return to the orbit of a (nonexistent) Mother Ukraine.
fake news happens a LOT when it comes to dealing with Russia, with fake news from Both Sides... reports that are designed primarily to influence rather than inform
I like to see some confirmation or validation when the story sounds improbable like this one
we will see ... if he really supports the report, then he does... thanks.
Do you think his press secretary, Spicer, didn’t say it, or do you think he doesn’t know his boss’s guidance?
Spicer, President Trump’s press secretary said it. It’s been accepted and reported in the state owned news media - RT, SPUTNIK, etc. Do you think President Trump will let Spicer say things he doesn’t support, like having his own foreign policy?
Mr. Trump is not perfect. There was only one perfect man, and we crucified him (which is what the Dems want to do to Mr. Trump.)
This Crimea statement, and position underlying is, was one of his less than perfect moments.
