If the auxiliary spillway fails now, whatever water flows through it now will not have the force it would've if it had failed when it was at or near the top. We are 8 hours away from any water getting to us and it will rise much slower now than it otherwise would've.
The people of Oroville, Gridley and Biggs will have far less time to react if it goes. Keep them in your prayers.
