Older Judges and Vacant Seats Give Trump Huge Power to Shape American Courts
NYT ^ | FEB. 14, 2017 | JOSH KATZ

Posted on 02/14/2017 7:07:39 AM PST by Boomer

“The appointment of judges is typically a three-legged stool,” Mr. Malcolm said. Guidance comes from the home state senators, the White House counsel’s office and someone from the Department of Justice, typically from within the Office of Legal Policy. “How the power balance shifts among these three points varies somewhat from administration to administration.”

In light of all the progressive, lying Statist-expansionist Left's nonstop lying, the phrase "President Trump" almost has as really nice ring to it.

Everything they say they 'hate' about President Trump (saying so while holding signs worded "Love Trumps Hate", dontcha' know?) are their own [moral] failings now turned against themselves.

Trouble is, and the reason I said "almost", is that those failings of the Left have created problems remaining (problems creating problems, like a StarTrek Tribbles episode gone bad) which all of us are forced to deal with, regardless if the rest of us are 'Tribble breeders', or not.

Signed,

liberal activist judges

There shouldn't be such a thing.

They are all "sworn in" with an oath to support and protect the Constitution and the laws of the land, and of their state.

If they are overturned for ANY anti-Constitutional or contrary legal ruling...they should be out on their @$$.

“The courts are more of a problem than congress is. I wish Trump could also remove Obama’s judges.”

Well, he should get on with replacing as many as he can right now, and work on breaking up the Ninth Circuit.

“Chuck Grassley, the chairman of that committee, has said that he will continue to honor the Senate tradition of the “blue slip” policy, effectively giving senators veto power over judges nominated to serve the districts in their state.”

This worthless old Turd needs to be gone! Unfortunately, he’s just been re-elected to another six year term. He will out last Trump’s first term. and right now he’s 81! Only Hatch (82) and Fineswine (83) are older, but they are up in 2018, and both probably will go then.

“Further note: The GOP will be defending just eight Senate seats in 2018, while Democrats must fight for 23 — plus another two held by independents who caucus with the Democrats.”

And nearly all of those 8 should be replaced! Only Fischer and Barrasso are “keepers.” Hatch, Wicker, Corker, Heller, Flake and Cruz need to be gone! But I will bet you that they idiot voters in their respective states will “dutifully” return them to office. BTW Hatch, Heller and Flake are all Mormons!

Horowitz tweeted on this article on Drudge’s twitter feed that this is not true and that he would write an article explaining.

Not seeing it. Please provide link.

Rule 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Actually, we now have a lot of power. No, we don’t have direct power over liberal bastions like Hollywood, the media and academia, but by threatening to use governmental levers of power to impact their tax breaks, copyright laws, and subsidies, we can pound them into submission. And Trump is clearly willing to use all his powers to beat the living liberalism out of our enemy.

Wait, this is where the Fredocons loosen their bow ties and stutter, “Why…we can’t…Professor Wellington Wimpenheimer IV would not approve…it’s so mean…oh, well I never!”

Wake up. Man up. If you ever want to win (and maybe someday even kiss a girl) you need to get real. They hate us, and we either win or we spend the rest of our miserable lives as Boxer the Horse, slaving away to fund the welfare state under the lash of the Left until it decides it’s time to pack us off to the glue factory.
