Trump Vetoes Neocon for State Department Post

President Donald Trump has squashed Eliot Abrams’ hopes of being picked for a crucial State Department post.

Abrams had emerged as a possible contender for Deputy Secretary of State, it was reported on Monday, and even met with Trump to discuss the position, according to Politico.

Trump, however, reportedly vetoed Abrams’ appointment after learning Abrams had been a vocal critic during the campaign. Abrams, a Republican Establishment neoconservative, was incredibly hostile toward Trump’s campaign and its America first message.

“This was Donald Trump’s thin skin and nothing else,” a Republican source reportedly told Politico.

But it’s not difficult to see why Trump might not have the strongest desire to give such a man the number-two position in the State Department

The job of a political appointee is to implement the vision of the President in his department. Somebody who opposes the President’s vision is disqualified.

They say “thin skinned”, I say “cautious”. Why have somebody in that high of a position that he wouldn’t be able to trust?

“This was Donald Trump’s thin skin and nothing else,” a Republican source reportedly told Politico.

Nope. Even the pubbies don’t get it...

He told us early that he is a counter puncher. Look at his record.
No cases where he attacked someone personally, as a first strike. But, no cases where he let a personal attack on himself pass unanswered.

Another example of DJT doing what he said he would do.

Keep up the good work, sir! Although you could drain the swamp a bit quicker for many of us...

Just sayin’...

“This was Donald Trump’s thin skin and nothing else”: BALONEY!

"Thin skin" didn't prevent President Trump from appointing very hostile Nikki Haley Ambassador to the United Nations--nor did it affect any of his other appointments.

Nor did such sympathies induce him to appoint those loyal to him to high positions, e.g. Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, et al.

President Trump's dedication to truth, professionalism, and the American People causes him to seek the best people for the jobs to be done--and that's all he cares about.

All this is beyond the grasp of the sick, evil, dishonest, decadent scoundrels who fight against him. All they can understand is the petty, small minded, evil ways in which they would react were they in his position.

They cannot understand a man of towering intellect, courage, honesty, self-sacrifice, and heroism--all the things that they are not and cannot understand.

I wonder who in Trump’s administration placed Abrams’ name on a list to be considered?

Rand Paul, not Paul Ryan. Rand didn’t want the neocon either.

Neocons are disturbingly strange and useless.

There are untold numbers of US servicemen buried in military cemeteries across the land do their uselessness...

Neocon RINOs upset that Trump doesn’t want Neocon RINOs filling critical positions - the horror.

“President Trump is going to have clean house in the State Department.”..

Not only in the State Department, the entire “government swamp”. It should make absolutely “zero” difference who they are or what party they represent, you are either “on board”, and have been all along, OR, you are OUT, GONE, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

“This was Donald Trump’s thin skin and nothing else,” a Republican source reportedly told Politico.

The only thin skin I've noticed is the skin of the rat media. They are totally unprepared to deal with a president who pushes back, and pushes back with determination.
