The European Union has released a report that labels the very presence of Jews on the eastern side of Jerusalem as "provocative." According to the Europeans, the building of Jewish homes in these areas is the single greatest threat to peace in the region.
Titled "Jerusalem Report 2012," the survey asserts that the construction of homes for Jews on the eastern side of Jerusalem is a "systematic, deliberate and provocative" effort to make it "impossible for Jerusalem to become the capital of two states."
It should be noted that the report is not referring to small, isolated settlements, but rather to large Jewish neighborhoods like French Hill, Pisgat Zeev and Gilo (for those familiar with the city).
For Israelis, the whole thing is just absurd. That the return of an ancient people to the areas that made up their ancient heartland should pose a threat to peace simply doesn't make sense. Not to mention the fact that Jews have continuously lived in these areas, and especially in Jerusalem, non-stop for some 3,000 years. What the world doesn't like is that the Jews now exercise control in this Land.
As Alan Baker, an Israeli expert in international law, told Israel Today, the Jews are an indigenous people in this land. If the international community cannot accept this fact, then there is no basis for even starting peace talks.
One of the many laughable things about liberals is that they still think that Europe is cultured.
Islam is taking care of that problem.
It was “Casino Night” that caused me to switch churches. We should pray for those who have lost their way.
Sharing that land is the death of that land. Throughout history, superior cultures annex land and hold/defend it. Though their entire history is based on this concept, Europe remains willfully oblivious.
[Europe is cultured.]
And is being over run by 7th century illegal terroists bring in their religious Caliphate which makes Muslims owners of the non Muslims as slaves which they own and will murder, rape or burn. Sharia law demands it. Show me a peaceful Muslim and I will show you a heretic to the Koran.
The entrance of the word of God gives light, the world continues in the darkness of lies and deceit that God does hate as He gave us His Scriptures to guide and profit us who know and believe the Word of God in the flesh, Jesus Christ or Lord and Savior.
Europe is being overrun by the armies of Islamic terrorists the ignorant and arrogant politicians are importing for their own destruction. A shame indeed. Thank God for our President Trump who knows and will enforce our Constitutional laws that the left hates so much.
Jews still can’t live wherever we wont to.
Thanks for giving me my new tagline.
Amen.
“Europe: How dare Jews build in Jerusalem”
There is only ONE (1) G-d. Period. He, Himself, made that abundantly clear, many times. To say otherwise is nothing less than blasphemy.
One God in 3 persons...”Hear oh Israel the Lord our Gods (Elohim) is one God”...the Lord said to my Lord, sit at thy right hand... [Yahwh, Christ, Holy Spirit]
No, only One. You can’t count as G-d a supposed demi-god (the very existence of which is surprisingly like the pagan Greek beliefs of their “gods” mating with humans).
Besides, you got the Shema prayer wrong. Translated from the original Hebrew, it says, “Hear oh Israel, the L-rd your G-d is One.” “Elohaynu” (singular) not “Elohim (plural).”
Not correct. The Hebrew word is ‘elohiym (transliterated) which is literally, “Gods”. Here is another proof text for you...Isaiah 48:16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me. [Father, Son, Holy Spirit]
One G-d, period. Any other position is blasphemy in a monotheistic religion.
Was the prophet Isaiah a blasphemer, then?
In the passage cited in comment #16 (Isaiah 48:16), Isaiah spoke (wrote) of God, and God's Spirit, AND in regard to one who was "sent" who was neither God, or the Spirit of God ---not either of those for reason this who was "sent" was sent by both God, and His Spirit (according to inspired, even God-breathed Hebrew Scripture conveyed unto the Jews, and thus unto the rest of the world too) through the prophet Isaiah, or; perhaps as some translations into English would have it, the one who was "sent" was sent with the Spirit of God.
Either way there is place for God the Creator (the One God) his "Spirit" and still yet one more person.
Isaiah was a genuine prophet, wasn't he? It is my understanding that indeed he was, along with many others beyond only Moses, alone.
We cannot (should not?) assume that Isaiah was writing of himself when he wrote the portion found within that same passage of Scripture;
Instead, it is understood by a great many (including Jews of old, and unto this day also those called "Christian") that Isaiah was speaking of the same God who had appeared as burning bush (that "burned" but did not consume as earthly flame would) to Moses. The Great I Am
There is (does exist) the [Great] I Am, the God of the Hebrews, whom I take it, you accept as the One and only true God?
There also is his Spirit, which when encountered, heard, or in some way the communication unto man apportioned by God Himself, and delivered by way of His Spirit unto man, when that is understood by man (as God wills that to be, whenever chooses to whomever He chooses) is to hear/be illuminated/be informed by this same One God. It is not like the prophets of Israel spoke to God face-to-face as did Moses, but they were communicated with, and directed by God's own Spirit. Remember too... Moses was hid by God in cleft of the rock, seeing only the "back" of God (Exodus 33).
Are you with me, so far? God, the Creator, and His Holy "Spirit". Still One God -- not two.
Are we still good (have agreement thus far) on this?
Further, although the prophet Isaiah was (in my own view, anyway) truly anointed unto the office (of prophet to Israel) he was not writing of himself as Mashiach, or Moshiach. The prophet (albeit included among those 'sent from God' thus anointed by the Spirit of God to prophesy, nonetheless) instead was writing about a coming messiah (Moshiach, "moshiah" comes from the root Yod-Shin-Ayin, which means to help or save, deliverer, Savior).
This verse is the first clear indication of how the author of Matthew sees Jesus. France notes that in the Old Testament only God had the power to absolve sins thus this verse shows that Jesus will be far greater than any of the prophets and other holy men
Yes, I know...a link that I had provided buried among the rest, above commentary within this FR posting asserted (from Jewish 101 link such as;
"Belief in the eventual coming of the mashiach is a basic and fundamental part of traditional Judaism."
yet curiously enough provides no real foundation for the following (other than the say-so of rabbinical teachers, perhaps...and none of those I am aware of being on par with actual, genuine prophets of old);
But above all, he will be a human being, not a god, demi-god or other supernatural being.
