Iran's Bluster Is Just Fear of Trump -- and Revolution

The rent-a-crowds, which have a high proportion of military men, are not really prepared to directly challenge the United States. The marches, chants, and posters are not so much for our consumption as for that of their own citizens, most of whom are disgusted with the failed regime and yearn for a return to the Western world. The regime fears that, sooner or later, the tens of millions who detest Khamenei, Rouhani, et al., will flood the streets as they recently did on the occasion of the funeral of Hashemi Rafsanjani, chanting anti-regime and anti-Russian slogans.

Today’s “festivities” are designed to keep the Iranian people in their oppressed places -- and mass hangings and torture underline their real targets.

The regime is intensely worried that the Trump team is preparing serious action. The mullahs know that if America moves, most Iranians will try to bring down the regime.

The thing about Iran is that they are ripe for revolution but if we attack them, they will rally around the government. They have a stupid kind of national pride. So we need to get them to rise up, while trying to avoid a direct confrontation with the mullahs. The mullahs may try to cause the confrontation.

IMHO you are correct. We need to support those Iranians who seek to overthrow the mullahs.

That said, any gunships that taunt our naval vessels need to be blown from the sea.

In my unworldly view, and for lack of a better term, a “Westernized Iran” just might be the Middle East’s best bet for peace amongst the various countries including Israel, of course.

I can foresee Iran’s “Westernized population” preferring to remain in a prospering Iran, instead of “massively immigrating” into the U.S.

IF Iran’s Mullahs can be overthrown, I think it’s possible to anticipate a domino effect throughout the region that could spark a yuge rebuilding effort by the natives of their own lands.
