This seems to me to be one of the most destructive powers that the local governments have regarding families. To be able to just come into a home and tear a happy family apart.

Where is the ACLU? Southern Poverty Law Center? Civil Rights Division of the DOJ?

I find it difficult to believe she is the only homeschooler in the state of New York.

NY. Nice place to visit - wouldn’t want to live there.

And I also smell a federal rat lurking somewhere in this sleazy picture.

“Government schooling” - has nothing to do with actual “education”.

While the school district has claimed they are unable to comment on the matter, they said that homeschooling is a right only granted to those who have full custody of their children, alluding to the possibility that Harris was not the sole custodian of her two kids.

Herein lies the crux of the problem... The school district things that "rights" are granted by the state, and only to those whom they deem worthy.

How does forcibly removing the children from the home do them any good at all? So that they can be put back into the gov't school where they are "truly" safe?

Officials said ... homeschooling is a right only granted ...

Say what? Rights are now granted by the State? I thought they were "endowed by our Creator" (DOI)?
