On January 29, the fighting in Avdiivka, a town in eastern Ukraine within Ukrainian government-controlled territory, seriously escalated.
The fighting began close to the demarcation line and six kilometers north of Donetsk (see map), and continued until at least February 3.
According to official reports, 13 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 93 were wounded since the fighting intensified. Three civilians were killed and one wounded, and a British journalist was wounded and later operated on in the Dnipro hospital.
Heavy shelling from the separatist-controlled territories also affected nearby residential areas. The town was cut off from electricity, heat and water supplies, and repairs could not begin immediately due to continued hostilities, despite the brutally cold temperatures.

Why is the man-made famine of Stalin relevant to the modern political dynamic?
I’ll concede most of purely Ukrainian ancestry will think it quite important, even essential. And that’s 77% of the population. Not unlike Native Americans see the government in Washington. And there’s not many of them left.
And Ukrainians are certainly free to fight for their territorial integrity. Nobody would begrudge them that.
But it’s impossible to even create a plausible BS story on ANY US interest there. We have very, very little trade with them, no banking connections, military connections, nothing.
In the tiers of US interests, they rank right up there with Botswana.
>> Dude, all you do is spam. No one reads your stuff because no one reads walls of spam.
>NOT reading the facts I provide, and similar found elsewhere, would be your only excuse for having such a demented view of things. Because if you admitted to reading it, thus being factually informed, you’d be in the impossible position of having to address and/or defend them. So you’re actually better off pretending ignorance. Makes good sense, from your twisted perspective.
I’ve read most of what you posted long before you posted it. We just disagree on the facts primarily because I don’t believe what the media prints after years of watching them lie on almost every subject and you apparently believe everything they write. I’ve learned to read between the lines and check both sides.
Spamming at me or anyone else on FR isn’t going to change that. Insulting me isn’t going to change that. If you want to change minds you need to use persuasion or debate not spamming and insults.
Well said. It seems to me that a lot of people aren’t comfortable enough with their own understanding, and don’t want to put the time and effort into solidifying it. In that regards, they are in danger of being like the snowflakes or liberals, who walk lockstep with those who are manipulating and propagandizing them. Everyone should assume nothing that they hear and evaluate everything.. that is what Paul did, with the filter of Torah and Talmud, and the teachings of Messiah. He had a better understanding than most, so perhaps we should follow his teaching in 2 Corinthians and test ourselves daily. That means trust no one with your salvation, not even (or perhaps especially) your pastor or teacher. Seeking truth - most of the time, is the hardest to find and takes the longest to find. If you build your house upon the bricks of truth, it will stand. If it is built with other peoples efforts only, it can be divided and will fall.
I think Trump will come around and support Russia trying to clean up its backyard, as they never bother us in our backyard anymore.
I’m with you. I put RT and Newsweek in the same category when reporting on Ukraine - they both LIE TO ADVANCE A CAUSE, and no degree of spamming FReepers is going to change that.
I’ve read enough reporting from OTHER SOURCES to know that we are being COMPLETELY PLAYED regarding Syria, right down to our media telling us it’s almost all women and children claiming to be refugees, when EVERY SINGLE PICTURE is loaded with fighting-aged men (just Google Syrian Boat People, for example) - with the exception of the token handful of women/children rushed to the front to stage their pictures.
Kosovo was NO DIFFERENT - we wanted to fight that war at 30,000 feet, but it was not possible - so we bombed the shit out of civilian targets in Belgrade until Serbia cried uncle (plenty of reports on that, include the LA Times, if you can believe that). But we were LIED TO all the way through, by the Clinton administration and their puppets in the media.
I’m sick of this crap - I have seen more HONESTY coming from Putin than from Obama, the Dems, and the media combined. Same with Assad. I simply don’t trust a damn thing our side says in these conflicts, and maybe I will if Trump is able to stand up to Deep State and start telling things like they really are over there.

One of the more interesting things I learned years after the war was over was the Serbian army didn’t pack it in until a full scale NATO ground invasion of Kosovo was across the Serbian border. The papers at the time indicated that Serbia left on their own accord and NATO moved in as peace keepers. I guess the media/deep state/cathedral really didn’t want us to think of it as a NATO ground invasion.

Well said. I’d like to be able to trust my own government and media again. I hope Trump can do it.
I remember that too...we were getting all our equipment stuck in the mud in Albania back then...but we kept sending in more and more crap - would we roll in? Not sure, but it was clear that Serbia was about to let go of Kosovo until the threat was credible, despite having the civilian infrastructure of Belgrade blasted to bits.
Trump should ‘apologize’ for our NATO atrocities in Belgrade (including the bombing of the Chinese embassy) - that would REALLY set off the left and the media.

LOL, that would be the biggest mass trigger in history. But way to early to think about fixing something that old. We’ve got plenty of other things to fix first.
More fake news from the MSM.
If it doesn’t comport with the Weltanschauung, it is per se fake news.
Try again when you feel like speaking English.
Using five-dollar words to promote a two-bit philosophy is a typical leftist act.
