It is a lot easier and cheaper to stay cool than it is to bundle up and fight off the cold all winter. I haven't had the furnace on all winter. Shirt-sleeve weather for two weeks now.

I just do not see the headlines in the news of the hoards of people in the southern half of the country, where the climate is warm most of the year, invading the northern states so they can enjoy the frigid cold, snow drifts and accumulation, shoveling their driveways and walks, spraying deicer into the key slot on the car door handle to be able to unlock the car, waiting to warm up the car before it can be used, salt on the roads to melt the ice and rust your car, the muddy, sloppy conditions when it all starts to melt, the high energy bills for keeping the house livable and the cabin fever you get when you can't leave the house days on end for outside activities.

The demographics, however, show just the opposite. The population is moving south out of the NE and Rust Belt for warmer climes. Every other car on the highway here is from up north and heading south. Why is that? I'm sure it is because they love their icy, frigid homes up north. I'm sure it is a lot of fun for them up north too, like you said. (sarcasm alert)

Been there, done that and it is not fun at all.

Just came in15min ago from shoveling (with insulated gloves and wool army liners) and my fingers are still tingling, overalls are caked with ice, and yet now there is more snow on areas then when i first shoveled them, so i understand why you are so jealous. 😊

I actually look forward to helping others by shoveling snow, but I definitely like warm weather, when you can stay in a T-short all day. Global Warming gets my vote. I have been to Florida doing evangelical outreach years ago (Church st. station in Orlando, Daytona Beach, and South Beach, Coconut Grove, etc., and indeed the weather is so much nicer, and the people less contentious). But God put us here in MA to try to make a positive difference in their lives for time and for eternity. As can be done elsewhere, but the best place to be is where the Lord leads you (but strangely many pastors hear" God calling them to Hawaii!)
