Sen. Jeff Sessions is on the verge of achieving the ultimate personal vindication when the Senate confirms his nomination to be attorney general as expected Wednesday night, and many law enforcement groups can't wait for his installation.
The Alabama Republican, an early Trump supporter during the campaign, and the new president share a tougher approach to immigration enforcement than any modern-day president regardless of party.

At last a real AG. Go Jeff!
Drain the swamp. Lock them up!
Thank you, AG Sessions.
Without Sessions’s early support, Trump may well not have become president.
AG Jeff Sessions is going to be a VERY busy man. He must be very excited, I sure am.
Justice is going to pay a visit to the enemies within.
A long list of things to do-hope he can get our universities back. They r getting trashed by Soros thugs
Maybe. Sessions is a pretty straight shooter. I don't seem him intentionally going after political enemies. However as the cases present themselves he will do his duty.
“... he will do his duty” And that is what is scaring the hell out of demoncrats.
Get to the source of the problem — SOROS.
AG Sessions needs to create facts on the ground. Deport illegals before the next election. Get them out of our country. Hold all illegals entering our country until they get whatever hearings the courts demand, then deport them all. They will stop coming if we end the catch-and-release policies that allow them to melt into the general population.
AG Sessions needs to implement or encourage the following:
1. A road along the entire border, navigable by Jeep or similar vehicle, with triple strand concertina wire barriers 100-200 yards on each side monitored frequently for vandalism. That can be done very quickly and will immediately slow the crossings of illegals. We must secure the border so illegals cannot easily enter (or reenter after being deported).
2. At least one additional barrier on our side beyond those double barbed wire obstacles, whether a fence, a wall, or something else physical to prevent unauthorized passage. Plus a barrier on the Mexican side built by Mexico to avoid penalties/retaliation. We must secure the border so illegals cannot easily enter (or reenter after being deported).
3. Pregnant illegals who are not immediately deported should be held outside the United States so their anchor babies will not be US citizens.
4. All illegals who committed the crime of entering our country illegally or of overstaying after legal entry and then committed any other crime while in our country should be deported. No exceptions. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. Any state or local government with a sanctuary policy should be barred from receiving federal funds; and illegals who access social services, including schools, should be provided those services as ordered by the courts but also required to be reported to ICE.
5. All illegals who committed the crime of entering our country illegally in the past four years, and thus have not been here long enough to have stronger ties here than at home, should be deported. In other words, no new growth in our illegal population. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship. No exceptions.
6. Once those are taken care of, we should deport the remaining illegals (or better, encourage them to go home on their own). Allow those who go home on their own to apply for legal reentry and legal status. Those deported should be permanently barred from any legal reentry or path to citizenship - again, no exceptions. For those who go home on their own, we should take into account in their visa applications any past history of productive work in the United States, English proficiency if they learned our language while here, and any record of living here without using welfare and other social services.
7. The only way for illegals to gain legal status should be to apply from their home countries for legal entry after voluntarily going home. Note: We also need to fix legal immigration so that the number of immigrants approved by Congress and by the President can obtain visas in a reasonable time to come here, and they can do it from the countries we wish to receive immigrants from, after thorough background checks.
Very true. I was a little surprised at such early support...almost the first one.
My tag line from 2014 until Trump was elected was, "Jeff Sessions For President"
Why should those who were here illegally—especially given their overwhelmingly low-skill status—be allowed to apply to return legally? Current law would not allow that, and given how many more capable applicants we have, I see no reason to overlook their crimes.
Along with thousands upon thousands of corrupt career politicians and bureaucrats.
Mayors and governors failing to support federal immigration law will be prosecuted.

That is an excellent question, and I have mixed feelings. My reasons are mainly practical.
(1) Whatever number of immigrants Congress chooses to allow, those who have been here without using government benefits are already in a sense vetted for character and productivity; those are better immigrants to take, assuming they meet the skill restriction that Congress should be setting.
and
(2) It seems more humane and compassionate to chase ALL illegals out if those who played by the rules have a chance to come back. We're more likely to get ALL of them self-deporting, which is a whole lot cheaper than paying for it.
For those benefits, I'm willing to compromise on what may be a small number of criminals allowed back in legally. It may not be the exact right answer morally, but the outcome is likely to be much better for America than any other plan I can imagine implementing. [Just screen them for all crimes including identity theft and illegal voting while here, and do not allow ANY who committed such crimes to return]
Very true. I was a little surprised at such early support...almost the first one.
...
I think Sessions and Trump have been friends or at least acquaintances since the early 1990’s when Trump gave testimony before Congress about a law that was severely affecting his business.
