Of course California needs power generating plants! They've shut down nuclear, are asking customers to lower consumption of natural gas due to a shortage (!?) and electricity rates go up astronomically! Never believe what “they” believe.

Actually they very likely could need them, although if they do it will also be the case that fuel will be hard for them to obtain.Actually, as far as obtaining fuel, that whole area is a gas field. They pump it practically straight up from below. Sutter county and Colusa county are next door to each other, and when I was in computer sales back in the day, I drove to Colusa from Yuba City to support customers. So it's not a huge distance. Before computers, I worked on the farms in the late 70's and saw the drillers out there.
