"If I or anyone else decided one day to take a sledge hammer go down to my local store and start smashing his windows and store front I would be arrested and charged why are we not doing this to these Cretans?"
An excellent point. As long as you are part of a left-wing mob, rioting in a left-wing city, the rule of law seems to be suspended. Oh, they might arrest a few of the rioters, but usually the charges are dropped after the public's attention has shifted.
But let you or I start breaking windows, the arrest would be immediate, and the charges would NOT be dropped.
The concept of "equal protection under the law" is inapplicable in liberal cities.
One more example: Public nudity is illegal in Seattle, but is tolerated at various left-wing parades and festivals. But if I walked down the street nude, I would be arrested. (Not that I WANT to walk down the street nude.)

Break a window at a “Church of Scientology” and see what happens.

IT is called Anarcho-Tyranny.
The law is only enforced against the law-abiding.

Agree on all points.
For starters...those arrested for rioting/violent protest should be mandated to remain in county jail pending trial.
Rioters should face FELONY charges...so it leaves a mark they won't soon forget.
Sentences should include community service, significant fines paid to those who incurred loss, plus incarceration.
As it stands now...rioting is essentially a "party" with likeminded leftwingers.
Contemporary youth are being conditioned that one can do *anything* as long as they explain it was a protest. This coddling must halt.
