There are “many tens of thousands” of these people that we told could move to the US. One charity CEO, a former soldier, has brought over nearly 4,750 interpreters, already.
The issue is that the people we paid are now targets for the Taliban and such.
When do people fight THEIR OWN D@MN FIGHTS and make their own change?
I am not against some select persons coming, but “many tens of thousands,” as was stated in the talk (by the charity CEO), IS CRAZY!
why would we need so many interpreters in the first place?
Sorry just because translated means nothing. Some of those folks set up our service men. Some of those folks turned guns on our service folks
Tens of thousands? I doubt it very much
This is the present STUPID MILITARY, as I had four Montagnard interpreters in my rifle company. They were paid 150-200 percent more then my riflemen with my chief interpreter, Y Blim Nie, making over $400 a month in 1968. My privates made more then Viet LT’s and no, we did not promise anyone US citizenship. Only Y Blim Nie ever made it to the USA after making it to Thailand. He was the only man out of 120 or so in that company to survive that war. What is our Army/military coming to? I damn sure think it was much better in 1966-1969 then 69-75. By 1973 the druggies and black power types were around.
