Whatever transpires here (and I hope it does come to a screeching halt before a “Constitution is not a suicide pact” Court) it is wise to notice a larger battle going on, one in the spiritual sphere.
This is an unabashedly Christian view, but the reason the devil wants these people, currently obeying him, to kill the Christians, is because if the Christians ever found their courage, they would be making concerted efforts to evangelize these people. Wherever and however they could be met. It’s a battle for who is going to spiritually possess these people. It could be God or it could be the devil but it cannot be both.
The US, in a centrist view, is willing to take on anyone new who in turn is willing to be a team player here. This is even seen in the willingness to consider lenient treatment of those who were brought in as minors against their will under the extralegal DACA but have somehow managed to integrate (which might be a minority of them, but it isn’t zero).
We are being told to swallow an invasion of non team players.
Yes, I think that is fair description of how you put it --centrist view-- and is the view that I do share.
Your last sentence cut to the heart of the matter;
We've seen this (the below, following) before, but again, a few links;
The former head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says the U.S. does not have the capabilities to vet Syrian refugees seeking asylum in the country.Particularly from certain parts of the world, Im just not sure that weve got the background information they talk about screening, they talk about being able to review everybody in a timely way, and it may take a year or two, Tom Ridge told John Catsimatidis on The Cats Roundtable on New Yorks AM-970 on Sunday.
As the Obama administration prepares to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees, a second high-ranking Homeland Security official admits theres no way to screen the new arrivals from the war-torn Muslim nation thats a hotbed of terrorism.During a recent congressional hearing a director with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which operates under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), confirmed that the U.S. has no method of vetting the new refugees because the Syrian government doesnt have an intelligence database to run checks against. Its actually embarrassing to watch the footage of the DHS director, Matthew Emrich, getting grilled by the senator who chairs the committee that conducted the hearing a few days ago. The session was held to address the fiscal and security implications of the Obama administrations refugee resettlement program.
Under questioning from Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, Emrich admits that there is no reliable way to assure that individuals coming from Syria are properly checked. The exchange lasts about seven minutes and Emrich sounds desperate when he says we check everything that we are aware of and that we are in the process of overturning every stone. The bottom line is that there is no way to verify the identity of Syrians so the defeated Homeland Security official proceeds to say that in many countries of the world from which we have traditionally accepted refugees over the years the United States government did not have extensive data holdings.
Syria isnt the typical country that sends over refugees, its a hotbed of Hezbollah militants and Al Qaeda-linked jihadists. Last year a study published by the RAND Corporation concluded that the most significant threat to the United States comes from terrorist groups operating in a handful of Middle Eastern countries that include Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The State Department also classifies Syria as a dangerous country plagued by terrorism. There is a terrorist threat from violent extremist groups including the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, (ISIL), formerly known as al-Qaida in Iraq (AQ), the al-Nusrah Front, and others, according to the State Department assessment. Tactics for these groups include the use of suicide bombers, kidnapping, use of small and heavy arms, and improvised explosive devices in major city centers, including Damascus, Aleppo, Hamah, Dara, Homs, Idlib, and Dayr al-Zawr.
Emrichs testimony before the Senate panel comes on the heels of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Assistant Director Michael Steinbachs revelation that the U.S. government has no system to properly screen Syrian refugees. The concern in Syria is that we dont have systems in places on the ground to collect information to vet, Steinbach said. That would be the concern is we would be vetting databases dont hold the information on those individuals. Youre talking about a country that is a failed state, that is does not have any infrastructure, so to speak. So all of the data sets the police, the intel services that normally you would go to seek information dont exist.
which they end with characterizing Beruff's comments as "mostly false", doing so by way of framing the issue (and more importantly Beruff's comments) only in comparison to FBI director Comey's statements. Look carefully and it could revealed how the Left fools itself, and goes to great efforts to reassure the rest (of the leftist fools/tools) that it is "they" the left who are virtuous, while they continue with the mainly here (there) unspoken theme that conservatives -- are of course not [virtuous], making it be like a moral issue (of feeling sorry for, and "being responsible for" Syrian, and Yemeni (ect.) "refugees") rather than this also be about finding out who is most likely to NOT be or become "a team player" here in the United States.
Last I checked the FBI is not the foremost lead agency in regards to immigration (although they can and do have a crucial role), and furthermore the issue is not about how accurate Beruff's statement was in comparison to Comey's, but is in fact (speaking of Political FACTS) much larger.
Sorry for the lengthy reply, much of it akin to "inside baseball", yet here it's not just the World Series that is at stake, but the More Real World, real serious stuff.
AND because the people being kicked out were future Republicans...not future democrats.
I sure hope that Trump has already lifted the ban on Cuban refugees.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
NO MORE FOREIGNERS.
