Lots of woods in the southeast part of the state and if the rest wasn't farmed it would revert back to the natural forest.
One local park has a century trail where 100 plots of land have been marked off and one new one is left to go wild each year. The oldest is 20 years old and growing trees nicely.
Yeah, I know. I’ve been in some nice wooded areas in Ohio. Still, “forest ecologist” and Ohio seem like a mismatch. Then again, forest ecologist?
