The nuclear option was already done by Harry Reid years ago. That is not on the table. They need Sessions to get 50 votes for DeVos because two Republicans have already announced they will vote against her - plus Pence would make a 51-50 confirmation, assuming there are no other defections. Probably not. I analyzed it, and even Collins is taking a chance - even though she thinks she isn't. Getting primaried in the Age of Trump is NOT out of the realm of possibility. 😀
I'd actually be surprised if a Manchin didn't flip when the outcome becomes clear.
Maybe we should ask Larry Schweikart to weigh in on this question.

They both voted to procedurally allow the vote to take place, so since apparently there are no other defections this all but assures confirmation.
