This was a set-up. Berkley allowed the College Republicans, then made sure there would be a riot so Berkley could charge the College Republicans with costs of the riot.

Well, the knuckleheads accomplished what they set out to do. And it looks like none of them will be facing jail time.
So that means they are emboldened to repeat their success until they are defeated.
One might think the only place to defeat them is in civil court because it seems the City of Berkeley is not interested in enforcing the law. But to get them in Civil Court requires names and addresses. So that pretty much strikes that approach.
But there might be a legal theory that the City of Berkeley and UC Berkeley can be sued for failing to enforce and protect in lieu of prosecuting the actual knuckleheads that ran amok.
Sue UC and Berkeley City successfully and there will be money on the table to make it profitable for the lawyers filing the complaints, then the news of profits will drive a new business for law firms everywhere. That’s how it works.
I can’t see any other way.
Bringing RICO successfully against Sanctuary Cities might add a new element in a fight-back campaign that could relegate this nonsense to the past within two years.
Trump can't send in the national guard, because then, as with Kent State, it'll be spun and NOBODY will tell the truth.
