Why hire 150 of the 900 back? Let them all go and try their luck in the private sector. We could hire 180 or so (20%) in the private sector to replace them all.

Way too much us vs. them in this country. If we pushed out more career bureaucrats into the private sector and hired, at least for a time, only workers from the private sector to replace them, we would get more cooperation in total.
