Suspect in Quebec mosque terror attack was of Moroccan origin, report shows

The terror suspects were identified as Mohamed Khadir and Alexandre Bissonnette, the Canadian TV network TVA Nouvelles reported. They were arrested soon after the shooting at the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre Sunday night and were expected to appear in court later Monday, police told reporters.

One of the gunman actually turned himself in, calling 911 less than 20 minutes later and giving officers his location so they could arrest him, police said.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the attack, calling it a “terrorist attack on Muslims.”

The attackers were students at Université Laval, a school in Quebec, a source close to the investigation told Radio Canada, saying one was Moroccan. Police said the attackers were not on their radar. 0130 quebec shooting Expand / Contract

Five people were in critical condition and 12 others suffered minor injuries, University of Quebec Hospital Centre spokeswoman Genevieve Dupuis said Monday. The dead ranged in age from age 35 to 60.

Police did not reveal a possible motive. One suspect was arrested at the scene and another nearby in d'Orleans, and police said they did not believe there were other suspects.

One of the suspects was armed with an AK-47, the Le Soleil newspaper reported. One gunman reportedly was 27 years old.

A witness who asked to remain anonymous told Radio Canada the two gunmen were masked.

“It seemed to me that they had a Quebecois accent. They started to fire, and as they shot they yelled, 'Allahu akbar!' The bullets hit people that were praying. People who were praying lost their lives. A bullet passed right over my head,” the person said.

Oops. He forgot to mention the names and origins of the attackers. He also forgot to mention that they yelled “Allahu Akbar.” This must have been a simple oversight and not an intentional effort to divert the blame and anger at an innocent group of people.

A lot of Westerners (Americans included) believe in the myth of the “Perfectibility of Man”

Part of this myth is that man is at his most basic being good (the truth being that at his most basic man is a selfish amoral brut). The other part of the myth is that man’s formative years either make or break him and make him either good or bad. So good childhood experiences make him good and bad childhood experiences make him bad. Either way it is not to his fault or credit his character in the end.

Hence the Left gives us the myth of most Muslims are good people, most criminals can be rehabilitated, call cultures and religions are equally good or bad, multicultural countries are great and Western Civilization is bad because of its history of colonialization.

All of it comes down to the Left’s need to demonize everything that is Western in order to weaken the conservative political parties. The whole notion of conservatives is to ‘conserve’ what is good. Conservatives know that man is wicked at his most basic nature and must be saved by the grace of God and molded by the community of the Church and family.

But the Left is set on burning down the Christian community so if Muslims are anti-west they by that nature must be good. If they are by the Left’s judgment good (weaken the West) they must be permitted to enter the west (America) to make the West less of what it is that makes the West good.
