My son’s office is at 10,990 feet elevation on Hidden peak. Forty avalanches on the highway this week, seven covered the road! I’ve got four kids that work the mountain. Daughter’s a tram/lift foreman, DIL is a tram/lift super, son’ a lift op/mechanic, and SIL is an EMT/mountain rescue ski patrollman who gets to blow avalanches down with artillary.
Me? I raced giant slalom, attended Alf Engen’s racing school at Alta. Got to ski deep powder with him and my ski racing coach Karl Tucker from BYU.
