We have one...Its called the Rockies.

The Rockies are almost a thousand miles east of California, smart guy. Perhaps you're thinking of the Sierra Nevadas?

Either way, any of you giggling with glee that California may try to leave are being, to put it diplomatically, silly. There seems to be an element of scapegoating that goes on here, where, rather than recognize the left-wing traitors in your own backyard, people want to blame everything on California as if it will all be OK if only California leaves. Then the USA will be paradise again, because there are no left-wing idiots in any other state of the union. Ha.

I, as a Californian, am actually for the secession effort only because it will make the secession of Jefferson from the rest of California much, much easier. And yes, blood will spill, but I would rather see California, and the US, burnt to the ground than see it become a leftwing force for evil in the world.

And I guess you'd drink up whatever blood was spilled, too, like a regular James Chesnut, Jr.

The world will do what the world will do.

America's not likely to push the rest of the world leftward.

It's not going to become a "leftwing force for evil" in comparison to other countries.

But split up America, and any ability of the US to check that leftward motion disappears.

Say goodbye to California, and whatever the American model was becomes less attractive abroad -- and at home -- so whatever is pushing the world away from the American model has one less big obstacle.

I agree that California should not secede to become a liberal country. That would mean Mexico has conquered that state. Thank you Democrats and RINOs.

I know there are a lot of conservative patriots that live there. Let's see what happens as Trump tightens the screws with sanctuary cites to remove the vermin before anything else happens.

Isn’t it amusing how many non-resident California experts
show up on these Cali secession threads? It is as if
there are absolutely no California conservatives here at
FR Nation. The truth is FR has more California FReepers
than from anywhere else. And, it is also true that
the state of California has more conservatives than the
TOTAL population of some of these poster’s states
of residence.

As a 4th generation Californian myself, I know what kind
of a state we used to be. We have always had our share
of free spirits but we didn’t invent liberalism. Some
of those lefties originated from very states that these
Cali hating posters call home. Hell, the haters should
be thanking us for taking in their rabble. Their gain
became our loss. Instead of jumping on the kick Cali
bandwagon they might research the State of Jefferson
project and educate themselves as to how the secession
movement might be a win-win for conservatives all over the
US including those of us presently in California.

I can’t help but think that a little of this Cali acrimony
has less to do with politics than it does with some good
old fashioned jealousy but that is a subject for another
time and thread.
