Don’t know about others on FR that live in the Houston area but I’m sick of all the hype about the Super Bowl. Just 24/7 on all the local TV channels.

They did one very, very brief interview of a young Black guy who said he was glad to have the extra temporary work on a construction crew. Extra income would help him feed his family but he did wonder aloud about who would really benefit from Houston having the Super Bowl. In his opinion it wouldn’t be any of the local citizens except for maybe some restaurant owners. Didn’t see his interview repeated at any other time.

Agree - the Super Bowl is essentially a SCAM...like a drug fix - get a bunch of money for a week or so, and then it’s all gone.

I am so sick of this crap with sports.
