California companies and their employees would leave the state in droves (in addition to those who have already left). It would be an economic disaster of epic proportions.

The dreams of a liberal utopia would quickly turn into a nightmare. But if they want to leave, I’m all for it!

Not to mention the Red Chinese invasion that would happen ten minutes after Beijing figures out that we’re no longer defending them.

Actually it seems to be Silicon Valley types, guy named Shirvin Pishevar in particular, who are pushing for this. The idea seems to be to temporarily exit and refuse to come back unless a list of demands, like ending the electoral college, are not met. They don’t seem to want to actually leave, just turn the rest of us into California-east. I guess this is plan B after the whole country rebelled against the California-ing of the rest of us over the past few years.

The problem with that is that the idiots would flood the rest of our states and bring their ruinous politics with them.
