And Mexico is like Somalia. I live 200 yards from the border and go to Matamoros multiple times weekly. Trust me, I know.
I also am near the border and agree, Mexico is a corrupt, crime-ridden sewer, and that “has been” beaner el presidente shares a lot of the blame.
I’m interested in your post. Why do you go there and what’s going on? I ask this with utter sincerity!
I think Vinny is mad that his buddy, El Chapo, was extradited to the US.
I used to go to Mexico late 70s and 80s
Even a big Falcón family rodeo in Saltillo in 1981 I think it was with a gringo buddy from Corpus whose girlfriend was part of that then premier clan before all the cartel apocalypto era
The Falcons controlled cigarettes and silver and US appliances and cars and of course ...brick marijuana and later michochan and Oaxaca wife beaters ....(vernacular for a very long green bud) for the area that I guess now the Gulf Cartel and others fight over
When I owned ships we had a quarry run contract from Guaymas to Santa Rosalia in late 80s.....a dirt run
Parts of Mexico I assume are still relatively ok but there are other places I’d prefer
When I was young I went anywhere just wandered right into wars just to do it and look for money opportunities
Old now
All those border towns from Matamoroa to Reynosa to Nuevo Laredo to Piedras to Acuna all had boys towns.....oh man...crazy places then
I always found Chetumal and most of the Yucatán fairly reasonable
The remote interior with large indig populations seem the most prone to insurrection
