Carlos Slim, who last month said a Donald Trump presidency could be good news for Mexico, called for a rare press conference Friday, just two days after Trump announced his plans to build a wall between the two countries.
The focus of the press conference was not immediately clear, but a spokesman for Slim told Fortune that the billionaire will take reporters

You don’t become a billionaire without being smart and savvy. Carlos just might have a plan to work with Trump, we’ll have to wait and see. He actually might want to make Mexico great again (or for the first time), MMGFTFT, and make some bucks doing it.

Interesting data point. How many times have we been warned how susceptible kids are to peer pressure and mob mentality and group think ? The longer they exist in an environment, the harder it is to see any alternative.
It isn’t reasonable to expect anyone to change their habits when they are surrounded by the same people that caused them to develop those habits in the first place. I can easily see a radical change like enlistment or draft especially under the stress of wartime as keeping people to focused on the changes to foster an addiction. Especially when a new environment takes them away from easy access to sources of drugs. I wonder if there is any evidence FDR’s public works programs had similar effect ?
