Fox News's Tucker Carlson is nearly doubling the ratings of his predecessor, Megyn Kelly, when compared to the same time period last year, according to Nielsen Media Research.
"Tucker Carlson Tonight" is up 95 percent in the 25- to 54-year-old demographic that advertisers covet most compared with the same period in 2016, when "The Kelly File" occupied the 9 p.m. ET time slot.
Carlson has averaged 775,000 viewers per night in the category, while Kelly averaged 398,000 during the same time period, Jan. 11–22.
Carlson took over the 9 p.m. slot on Jan. 9, shortly after Kelly announced she would be leaving for a daytime program on NBC.
Fox had reportedly offered Kelly $100 million over four years to stay with the network last fall. The former corporate attorney-turned-broadcast journalist said spending more time with her three young children in the afternoon and evening was ultimately more important. She reportedly took less money to go to NBC, where she won't be hosting a show every weekday night as she had at Fox.
Overall, Carlson — who has hosted programs on CNN and MSNBC in the past — is up 37 percent in total viewers, at 3.73 million, and 50 percent, at 775,000, in the key demographic compared with Kelly's 2016 averages of 2.72 million and 515,000, respectively.
Kelly is expected to make her NBC debut in September.

I wouldn’t pick on Martha MacCallum too much.
I don’t believe she is the permanent choice for her spot. And she at least leans in our direction. Remember when Greta left and Brit Hume took over for a few months while they got Tucker’s show lined up. I’m betting this will be a repeat of that transition scheme.
And he didn’t even have to wear a low-cut top!
At least Megyn was a conservative - and smart. Just kinda anti-Trump for my taste... but this Martha woman? She's soft liberal and comes across as emotional rather than thoughtful...
Dennis Miller AND Watters could team up - - do a much better show in that time slot. They're both smart, funny, and insightful. Could be an interesting team.
Of course, makes sense. Half of America is starving for a no holds barred right-wing tv commentator. Kelly forgot who her audience was but Tucker is picking up the slack in spades.

I think Fox feels the same way, that’s why her show is called The First 100 Days. She’s got 98 days left to prove herself.
No way in the world that the MSM will let her be conservative.

The Murdoch boys would love to have some liberal program on Fox cut the mustard, so they are test-driving McCallum.
I can already tell that she won’t make it. We’ll be hearing a report in a month or so that her numbers compared to even Greta have tanked.

I predict Megyn will flop at NBC. She made a bad decision that will cost her tons of money. Not that she’ll be homeless or anything, but I can still smile when it happens.
