It makes sense to emphasize this religious perspective if one has already determined that radical Islam is a danger to western civilization. Without this foundation of belief, there is only a law-and-order argument against Islamic terrorism which has been the problem ever since the state of Israel came into existence. The main reason that we see Islamic terrorism is that a major religion firmly believes that the work of God is actually the work of Satan (and vice versa in the case of more committed believers).

This paradigm can only be adequately resolved by the Man himself. You and I can argue about it with whoever wants to take the Islamic side of the argument (always a problem too, it’s a faith without a very strong tradition of real dialogue with outsiders). But an appearance by Jesus Christ would resolve the whole issue, if we could assume that said appearance was credible to a large enough group of onlookers. Some would be bound to fight but then it would be a more doomed fight than the current hit and run form that terrorism takes.

Astounding really to hear such clear language after so many years of various forms of denial and obfuscation. It may indeed be a precursor to the end of days.

The one thing that I would caution is that absolute victory will only come after further cost, and it may be large cost — I wonder if everyone who voted for Trump calculated that his stand would inevitably lead to a much more active phase of resolution of these issues. Sure, that’s good in the long historical perspective. But for individuals who have to navigate the situation day by day (I’m thinking of westerners in more exposed locations than North America, but also our own citizens as the sleeper cells activate) there’s a real need for high alert vigilance and caution. The demons won’t just surrender, they will fight to the death.
