You’re just going to get chewed up for thinking facts matter.

Several commentators have observed that the D.C. area is heavily Democrat. It makes sense that turnout would be lower for any Republican President.

Yeah. DC always votes 95%+ for democrats.

Liberals are more into this kind of stuff than conservatives. I don’t think I would ever consider going to one.

Personally I think the POTUS should take the Oath and then get to work, without all of this Pomp and Circumstance.

Population of DC is about 700,000. Clinton got 91% of the vote. Trump got 4%. Those other candidates got 5%. Certainly, DC residents were not coming to the inauguration as they did the two previous times. In addition, the DC suburbs in Virginia and Maryland have a population in the 3,000,000 range. Those residents, too, many of whom are long-term employees in the Federal Establishment, stayed away.
