Actually, I believe the numbers for Obola 1 was 37 million. Neilson said Trumps were 31 million.

Another issue is that, like it or not, Obolas was special for this country, in that he was the first black president. That in and of itself is historical, and going to draw larger numbers. Just look at the decline of numbers from Obolas 2nd. It was no longer historical.

Also, in ‘09, live streaming was in its infancy. Today, exponentially more people are live streaming than 8 years ago. When you look at the decline of broadcast tv and the rise of streaming, it would be easy to make the case that broadcast and streaming numbers would be close to equal.

There were many millions viewing online. 11 million from FOX, 8.5M from CNN.

Neilson isn't counting online viewers.

There is an article on Drudge with all the numbers.

Spicer was talking world wide numbers, also EW, a liberal mag even posted that Neilsen doesn’t count streaming and that means Trump was most likely the most watched ever. Nobody is comparing the crowd to Obama in 2008 the only reason Spicer mentioned crowd size was due to the LIE that the mall was empty during the inauguration when in fact that pic the media circulated was taken an hour before the swearing in and then tweeted out 40 min before the swearing in when people were still filtering into the mall grounds.
By the time the swearing in was taking place the area was mostly all filled. It’s a lie that needed to be addressed because the lying media yet again tried to make it seem as if Trump is not popular because he’s illegitimate. That )(@$ has to be fought against. The media floated out the number of 250K attended all based on that early pic. Outright lies.

looks like the record (more than Obama) was set by Ronald Reagan.

The 30.1 M number for Trump DOES NOT include PBS broadcast. Nor Online. More people stream today than ever, so in my book, Trump and Obama are neck and neck (not that that matters).

What matters is governance. We should be past the color of a person’s skin being a reason to vote for them.
