Harry Reid’s nuclear option of requiring only a simple majority of 51 votes to pass legislation doesn’t include approving Supreme Court nominees. I don’t know if changing this to a simple majority requirement can be done or not. But, if not, then the Dem’s can indeed block any Republican nominee as long as they stick together.

That is exactly correct. The filibuster is still in place for Supreme Court nominees. If I understand correctly, should the Supreme Court vote tie, it will go back to its lower court which President Trump (I love saying that) can load up with conservatives

As far as I know, there’s nothing in the constitution which stipulates a super majority or a 61 vote margin to approve a justice to the Supreme Court. I think it only says advise and consent.
