One of the BEST books I’ve ever read, for the historical understanding it gave me, is “George Washington’s Sacred Fire” by Peter Lillback.

Thanks for the book recommendation, Qiviut. 1438 pages! I got the Kindle version, I will give it a try!

There are extensive footnotes, etc. so that’s probably a couple hundred pages ... I was thinking the actual book was 900 - 1,000 pages.

I do have the hard copy (packed in a box in storage at the present time which is why I’m not sure of the footnote pages) - I hope the Kindle version will work for you; however, one of the reviewers who tried Kindle said he really needed to have the hard copy book in hand - it is a big book!
