Forget sanctuary cities: The next heated congressional battle on immigration could be over sanctuary campuses the dozens of colleges and universities that say they will resist any cooperation with federal immigration agents, unless they are forced to by law.
Rep. Duncan Hunter, California Republican, introduced legislation this month to do just that, saying Congress should strip schools of billions of dollars in federal financial aid unless they start cooperating with authorities.

Saving money...saving minds.
Need cut cut the money-laundering to higher education by not letting our tax dollars fund subversives using it against us.
Good move. If they dont want to follow the law, then they do not get to screw the American taxpayer.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!
Further, schools should be forced to refund student tuition to any American paying more than any illegal alien.
That will bit UofA and NAU hard. lol 8^]
A good plan.
We need to audit universities and those in the universities, who get government funding from the CIA and state department.
Any university or profs getting funding from either State or CIA should lose that funding immediately.
Illegal aliens.
They are not immigrants.
Immigrants are people who apply to be Americans in their home country, pay their fees, learn the language, wait their turn and comply with the laws.
WTF?
Why should a law be necessary?
Is the claim that there is no "controlling authority" that allows colleges and universities to be exempt from complying with immigration laws and related policies, duties and requirements?
Period
Yes!
Is Sec 505 of the IIRIRA still on the books? If so, the Trump admin should make use of that.
It never really made an impact, as the University was constrained by finances back then. We only had 2000 undergrads at the time, and ROTC students comprised about 5% of the student body. The vast majority of those cadets (like me) were ROTC scholarship attendees, i.e. Dept. of the Army was paying full freight for each of us: tuition, books, lab fees, etc.
Gonzaga's a small campus, and just about everyone knew someone in ROTC. That familiarity also played a big role in the lack of support for the protest.
It wasn't until the basketball program hit the national scene in 1999 that GU would grow its attendance (now 5000) and endowments. The ROTC "Bulldog Battalion" is a major fixture on campus, and is consistently one of the best ROTC programs in the country.
I doubt more than a few of these universities could withstand the loss of federal financial aid.
Absolutely!
That should be the poster text for "America First"
In fact anything to the countrary should be deemed sedition, if not treason.
There is no authority to claim that the U.S. Constitution was ever intended to apply to the entire world, certainly not to illegal aliens, regardless of any State claim.
And certainly not within the sole power of any president.
Perhaps the very concept of Executive Orders should be revisited.
As I understand it, it is intended to apply to DIRECTLY salaried permanent federal employees, and NO ONE ELSE "by some vague association."
saying Congress should strip schools of billions of dollars in federal [emphasis added] financial aid unless they start cooperating with authorities."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Patriots are reminded that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate schooling purposes. This is evidenced by the following excerpts from the writings of Thomas Jefferson and a Supreme Court case opinion written by a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices.
The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphases added]. Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited. None to regulate agricultural production is given, and therefore legislation by Congress for that purpose is forbidden [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
So patriots need to get constitutionally low-information Rep. Hunter up to speed with the idea that all federal funding for intrastate schooling is based on state revenues which the feds have arguably stolen from the states by means of unconstitutional federal taxes imo, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.
Patriots need to support Trump in putting a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes. Then the states will probably find a tsunami of new revenues that they wont know what to do with, establishing their own healthcare and retirement plans and improving their schools for starters.
"The States should be left to do whatever acts they can do as well as the General Government." --Thomas Jefferson to John Harvie, 1790.
An enabling act is a piece of legislation by which a legislative body grants an entity which depends on it for authorization or legitimacy of power to take certain actions. For example, enabling acts often establish government agencies to carry out specific government policies in a modern nation.
Trump’s coming and he’s bringing ding dang diddly heck with him. Better hide your hearts lefties.
Period"
MEGA DITTOES!!!
School administrators, mayors, governors, and congressmen supporting illegal aliens should be arrested, tried in a US court of law, found guilty, and executed for murder. I would start with Paul Ryan, followed closely by Obama, McCain and the Graham.
ANY public or private organization or group that aids and abets illegal aliens should be sanctioned...
So it’s gonna be like SANCTIONARY colleges/cities, not SANCTUARY. Right?
He needs to Add:
Loss of Accreditation for a period of 10 Years.
