I agree mostly with what you posted. I do have a problem with the idea that the GOPe/Dems agree that we need Russia as our enemy in order to prop up the so-called ‘military-industrial complex’. That ‘complex’ has been DECIMATED over the past two decades by both parties, and what we have left is are fragments of what we had during the Cold War. But I DEFINITELY AGREE that the neocons seem to think that we can antagonize and prod Russia, without any forward-deployed military to speak of (i.e., half a dozen tanks launched from Poland likely won’t make it to Moscow, much less threaten Putin), nor is any military build-up going on the background on our side. Instead they are seeming think that Putin would simply take our prodding and provocations and suck it up, as Yeltsin did when we attacked his allies in Yugoslavia. But there’s a limit to that. The Russian military is MUCH STRONGER than it was in the 1990s, as it has been thoroughly modernized...and our military has been left to rot during that same time...eventually there will be little risk for Putin to answer back one of our provocations - given the path we were on.
Having said all that, expect the neocons here to blast us, and again tell us we are being paid by Russia (even though 98% of my 20,000 posts here have nothing to do with Russia, and I don’t need their money) - using the DNC excuse of Russian intervention seems to be the only thing left in their playbook these days.
Come on, Putin never said that he wants to recreate the USSR, nor is he a Communist. There is a quote where he said that the collapse of the USSR was a disaster, but from the perspective of Soviet citizens, it absolutely was...it plunged their nation into a decade of darkness and uncertainty that was unmatched, probably since Stalin. It was Putin himself who led the new Russian Federation out of the darkness and into the light of being a civilized, modern country.
Interesting that you should insert the Tea Party as a group that would have possibly started a civil war.
this opposition of today is far different than oppositions of the past....and you know it!
I believe Putin would take action if something horrendous takes place tomorrow.
There won’t be a bloody coup.
They prefer impeachement.
Me too. I’m old but ready, willing, and predominately able.
“The wall of meat says otherwise...”
Not to mention, a Wall of Lead that would follow any breakthrough of the Wall of Meat.
The “impeachment” can be a kind of soft coup.
Interesting that you take my analogy of the Tea Party as a serious example. The whole idea was to demonstrate the absurdity of the stories and situations.
Try thinking about what you read. And not simply reacting.
Russia has an arrest warrant out for Soros
If they are serious about putting a crimp in this nonsense of globalists billionaires funding anarchist movements and overthrowing elected officials - they could enforce it
It would be a start
It would be nice to think so but watch out for people wearing purple
Just sayin they already have this one named
FWIW, I seem to remember Russia did give prior warning to the US about the Boston Marathon bombers.
Why use the Tea Party as an analogy if you aren’t contemptuous of it? It was and is not, as you say, absurd.
I havent seen a single person in Purple dress of whom I would be afraid.
They would shoot themselves in the foot before they could get a pistol out of the holster.
Oh I can just imagine how the next 4 years are going to go, “Trump sneezed! Impeach him! Trump jaywalked! Impeach him! Trump littered! Impeach him! “ The left are just scum of the earth, if their criminal bitch was elected they would be praising her as the savior of all mankind while she spent 100% of her time lining her pockets while the country went to hell, but Trump doing good will be fought against every step of the way.
“Arab Spring”?
An Obama creation from hell. Died a quick death, was clear it was not supported by masses.
I went to DC a few years ago for “American Spring”. It was stillborn. I hated the name at that time, was praying for a Great American Awakening instead. When I got there it appeared someone had warned the constructive element away. There was evidence of Homeland Security monitoring, but ony at one point did the goose step crowd show their face in protective mode.
Was there for about 3 hours, totally unimpressed with how it played out.
Now tomorrow. If the left is smart, they will stay away. Nobody expects them to be smart. I saw the Bikers for Trump in Wilmington NC at the campaign rally. They took it seriously, it was totally smooth. Not a single anti-eventer present. Went great.
I expect tomorrow to be the same way. But it only takes 1 crazy to prove me wrong.
It is called using the absurd to make a point.
The article is referring to those on the left who are disrupting things.
I use an example of a crowd from the right and make the supposition that we “should” have seen the same behavior.
But we did not.
If you could think for yourself you would understand the point and the technique. But you probably don’t “get” satire either. And you are constantly amazed at the things people laugh at.
There is one thing this election has shown, it is, that, the elites are the least likely to let govern.
They don’t need to carry pistols
They use their wealth and influence to surround themselves with purchased armies and intelligence agencies armed with deadly weapons and people with no qualms about using them on U.S. citizens
