How The U.S. Enabled ISIS To Take Deir Ezzor

The city of Deir Ezzor (Deir ez-Zur) in east-Syria is on the verge of falling into the hands of the Takfiris of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). More than 100,000 civilian inhabitants of Deir Ezzor and thousands of soldiers defending them are in immediate danger of being murdered by the savage ISIS forces. The current situation is a direct consequence of U.S. military action against the SAA and non-action against ISIS.

Deir Ezzor is besieged by ISIS since September 2015. But the city was well defended by its garrison of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and all further attacks by ISIS were repelled. Supply to the city was hauled in by air through the Deir Ezzor airport and through air drops by the Syrian and Russian airforces. Relief by ground forces and ground supplies are not possible as Deir Ezzor is more than 100 km away from the nearest SAA positions west of Palmyra and as the desert in between is under the control of ISIS.

Four days ago a new attack by ISIS on Deir Ezzor was launched and has since continued. ISIS reinforcements and resupplies had come over months despite air interdiction from the Russian and Syrian airforces. Yesterday ISIS managed to cut off the airport, where the local SAA command and its main supplies are hosted, from the city proper. It is now attacking in full force from all sides. Bad weather makes air support from the outside sporadic and difficult. Unless some unforeseen happens it is only a question of time until the airport and the city fall to ISIS.

The U.S. has condoned and/or even actively supported the imminent ISIS taking of Deir Ezzor by (at least) three measures:

a massive U.S. air attack on SAA forces in September 2016 enabled ISIS to take a controlling position and to cut off SAA resupplies a U.S. attack against a power station in January disabled the last electricity supplies to the city U.S. non-intervention enabled ISIS reinforcements from Mosul and west Iraq to Deir Ezzor in east-Syria

On September 16 2016 an hour long U.S. led air attack on SAA positions on the Tharda hills to the south of the airport killed over 100 SAA soldiers, destroyed a big SAA supply dump and several SAA tanks and artillery pieces. Immediately after the U.S. attack ISIS took the hills and has since held them. The positions allow for fire control over the airport of Deir Ezzor.

Under Obama the US Military has been transformed from a force of order and good to a tool of evil and thousands of people are about to be murdered by ISIS as a result. Friday can't come soon enough.

One of the first opportunities for Trumo to cooperate on Syria with Russia
Either stand down US forces operating in SYRIA pending formal congressional debate and approval of their mission
Or join the Russians and the Iraqis in true anti-ISIS operations

I hope Trump’s in time to launch attacks against ISIS there. There’s 100,000 people in that city who will end up either dead or as slaves if we don’t step in.

Bullshine. A city of 100k and thousands of soldiers “besieged” by an ISIS force?
So what is the size of this ISIS force? What I see is a short supply of guts on the part of the besieged.

Screw this mentality that without us they cannot defend themselves. I bet a paycheck that this ISIS force is fewer than 1000, probably fewer than 500.

Get out your rifles and defend your homes cowards. Uncle Sugar isn’t your problem, YOU are.

I’ll be glad when Trump is in there, people did hear how he said Russia was not doing right in Syria.

Russia is also selling uranium to Iran to build nuclear weapons.

Oh, but some people are talking up the Russians? Eh?

In other words, bombing some rebels is helping other rebels. SAA and ISIS are simply different flavors of Jihadis. The US military shouldn’t give a flying fornication which one is on top.

They where defending the city just fine until the US airforce destroyed their defensive lines. Like it or not, we created this mess.

Wait, my mistake, The SAA is the -actual- Syrian Army, not to be confused with the Free Syrian Army, which is rebel and jihadi. Now it makes better sense. we were bombing Assad’s forces to assist ISIS.

I should have known better, we would never bomb a non ISIS rebel group.

Just another series of war crimes committed by Obama and his minions in our name with our money and with our military.

Yep, the SAA is the acronym used for the Syrian Army in circles that discus the Syrian Civil war.

You got it, we need to leave, or join the Russian effort which includes all rebels, not just ISIS. Then apologize to Assad and leave.

The Russians don’t care if they bomb ISIS, or the forces fighting ISIS. Why should we?

I have zero problem with what Russia is doing in Syria. They bomb all jihadi rebels. We supply them and give them political cover.

So who are the bad guys there?

Not so easy to claim when uncle sugar is providing intelligence training subsistence salaries and arms to ISIS

Just last week there were odd reports of a US special, forces mission to extract someone from this location - we seem to have “ advisors’ in the most strategic locations to help ISIS ... You think US bombing of the power stations, water treatment plants and escape routes is accidental?

You can’t call families whose sons husbands and children are being beheaded enslaved raped and crucified by a ruthless externally supported barbarian force “cowards” unless you have walked the walk

I doubt if we are hearing much about individual acts of courage and valor among the population and their national army
