In class action litigation the lawyers can make up to 60% of the money awarded. That is bullshiite. That’s highway robbery anywhere else.
Actually, no, it isn’t highway robbery. Without the lawyers most probably none of these citizens would have recovered anything at all.
Some of these cases are easy and yes, the lawyer makes out like a bandit, some are hard and the lawyer, even though he wins the case he loses money, and some he loses and the lawyer is out thousands and tens of thousands of dollars.
The cases I think are outrageous are the class action lawsuits where there are 50-100 thousand plaintiffs and they get about 25 cents on the settlement and the lawyers end up with the 100s of millions.
