‘.....the media elites supposed monopoly on news and the slanted version they try to feed to the American people.”......
That is EXACTLY what they do. The DO NOT report the news, the edit and adjust it to get their agenda out. Best thing that Trump could do to the ass-clowns will be to EVICT them on day one.
And only hold press meeting when ever he wants to. Not every day. Most of the time the press just wants to be on TV. Stupid system.
Ari Fleischer & Laura Ingraham (on Lou Dobbs I think, earlier this week) both said there is no reason for the press elites to be in the WH. Laura in particular thought they should be moved to a nearby building. Both were appalled at Acosta trying to shout down PE Trump. Newt Gingrich said the medial elite cabal (my word because I cant remember the exact wording he used) needs to be broken up. All were saying add the use of youtube, Facebook, get other reporters in from different parts of the country, even have regular people attend/ask questions, etc. to get away from the media elites supposed monopoly on news and the slanted version they try to feed to the American people.

spot on
Trump should give them an outdoor tent like they had that weekend after his election at Trump golf club in Bedminster, only have it at edge of WH property.
Seriously, it would be cheap, they could run a few electric cables out to it. No need for them to have indoor space and privilege.
The tent in Bedminster sufficed through storm, cold.
Kick ‘em out and don’t let them back in. There is no freedom of the press as it currently stands. I believe none of what read from MSM and not much of the alternate news.
Set a new paradigm.
The real question is, are the snowflakes “literally shaking?”
MSM isn’t “opposition party” they are destructionist supporting domestic enemy.
His White House-—His rules.
The press has this coming, IMO. They have been behaving like jerks & the CNN guy the other day made me mad as hell. I told a friend that I would NOT be surprised if CNN wasn’t given a seat in the Press Room after how that man behaved.
Not even a drop of acceptable behavior.
I would throw him off my property if he treated me that way. He wouldn’t get back on.
Interesting idea. Often up the coverage to non MSM types and see if the balance of reporting change.
Didn’t Obama shut down the White House tours? Who wants to bet that Trump open up those tours again???
Certainly the press is entitled to free speech. I wouldn’t want it to be any other way. There is also the freedom to tune the press out.
“They are the opposition party,” a senior [Trump] official was quoted by Esquire. “I want ‘em out of the building. We are taking back the press room.”
This is a very astute observation.
Why let the enemy enter in the gates? Keep them outside, far, far away.
And not only that, but in recognizing they are the enemy - go on the attack, be on the offensive. Make them retreat and defend. Be relentless, never tire, wear them down.

Here's my proposal for reforming the presidential press conference:
Invite perhaps 200 journalists from large and small news outlets around the country out of an official list of 2000, on a rotating basis.
Include an additional 5 from a second-string list of 500, such as wide-circulation blogs, large organization newsletters, industry-related media or college newspapers, by lottery.
On the morning of the press conference, the press secretary announces the topic and subtopic for the presser; that day's invited reporters will have one hour to submit one question apiece online.
Participants come to the meeting place and are given a numbered ticket at the door as they enter.
After the press secretary makes a few prepared remarks about the topic of the day, he (or the president via live video feed) answers 7 of the pre-submitted questions, chosen by an impartial computer algorithm. Stupid questions will be rated electronically by a random 10% of attendees also chosen by algorithm. Questions ranked degrees of "stupid" will have their reporter or organization bumped down in ranking or out entirely.
Finally, three additonal questions will be taken from the floor based on random numbers chosen from a fishbowl, matched to the ticket numbers handed to each reporter when they entered the room.
