If this is legit, it’s odd it has not made it to DRUDGE by now, or that HANNITY’s research team hasn’t come across it, or has elected not to use it.

After Friday at noon, no pardons can be issued, which may be the reason.

BTW, can a President pardon himself? I bet a President could get away with it if he were a minority.

Whitehouse.gov using Drupal (October 24, 2009)

Big, exciting news! The flag ship website of the U.S. government, Whitehouse.gov, just relaunched on Drupal. This is a big day for Drupal, and for Open Source in government, and something all of us in the community should be very proud of.

White House Makes the Switch to Drupal (October 26, 2009)

In an article about the White House switch, The Associated Press points out the following:

"Having the public write code may seem like a security risk, but it's just the opposite, experts inside and outside the government argued. Because programmers collaborate to find errors or opportunities to exploit Web code, the final product is therefore more secure. For instance, instead of a dozen administration programmers trying to find errors, thousands of programmers online constantly are refining the programs and finding potential pitfalls. . ."

Message Error: Why running the White House Web site on Drupal is a political disaster waiting to happen. (October 27, 2009)

In yet another repudiation of its predecessor, the Obama administration this week migrated the White House Web site to Drupal, the popular open-source Web site management software. By dumping the Bush administration's proprietary system and embracing software authored by the community and available to everyone, the consensus holds, the White House embodies the very essence of the new politics.

I wish Drupal and the White House nothing but happiness. But I have a feeling this story ends badly. If the administration had conducted a few polls among the swing demographic of Web site administrators, it would have realized that Drupal is pocked with political landmines. To wit: Drupal represents everything the Obama team does not want to project. Allow me to elaborate. . .

White House devs overlooked gaping Drupal vuln: Is there an auditor in the house? (May 10, 2010)

A researcher has uncovered a potentially serious vulnerability in the open-source content management system used by the White House website and thousands of other sites.

The XSS, or cross-site scripting, bug resides in the Drupal Context module, a plug-in that Whitehouse.gov and about 10,000 other sites use to manage how content is viewed on their sites. According to an advisory published Monday by researcher Justin Klein Keane, the flaw allows attackers to inject malicious scripts into login pages that will reset the site's administrative password.

The discovery is notable because it comes less than three weeks after the White House released a plug-in of its own that requires use of the vulnerable Context module. It raises questions about the level of review carried out by the people who coded the Context HTTP Headers module. Administration officials installed it on the sensitive Obama website and released it to great fanfare in late April at the DrupalCon conference in San Francisco.

"My worry is that they just launched this revamped Drupal site and it doesn't look like anybody did a serious security audit," said a security researcher who has reviewed the bug and asked that his name not be used in this article. . .

Drupal Users Had Seven Hours to Patch or Be Hacked: The open-source content management system used by the White House issues a stern warning.(October 30, 2014)

"You should proceed under the assumption that every Drupal 7 website was compromised unless updated or patched before Oct 15th, 11pm UTC, that is 7 hours after the announcement," the Drupal project warned. . .

My understanding is that the Constitution doesn't spell out any limits on Presidential pardon authority. By the same token, it doesn't say Trump can't unpardon him. . .I'm sure Obama will be committing plenty of crimes once he leaves office anyway, so I'd just wait to nail him on one of those.

Drupal clarifies security rules after White-House gaper: Incomplete code - you have been warned

Webmasters running unfinished modules for Drupal do so at their own risk after the open-source CMS updated its guidelines on fixing security vulnerabilities. . .The Context module is not a part of Drupal's core but was used to install the core on the White-House site. The module was not finished code - it was a release-candidate so not officially supported by Drupal's security team - but the White House installed it anyway. . .

So it looks like pretty much any election outcome Alperovitch doesn't like was the result of a Russian hack, according to him. Got it.

Are Russian Hackers Meddling In the European Elections? A cybersecurity expert warns that Russian hackers may be looking to weaken the EU by bolstering Euroskeptic politicians. (November 29, 2016)

Fancy Bear may have a new target.

The Russian hacking ring alleged to have leaked internal emails from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign has turned its sights on upcoming European elections, a top cybersecurity expert says.

"The script that they’ve been able to successfully execute in the U.S. election I believe will be repeated in European elections," warns Dmitri Alperovitch, CTO of CrowdStrike, the Irvine, Calif., security company that was among the first to attribute the DNC hacks to Russia. "There’s no question that they’d been able to cause a lot of chaos in the course of the election and get people to believe that the system has been rigged."

"Senior Fellow at Atlantic Council"

Atlantic Council

The Atlantic Council is a think tank in the field of international affairs. Founded in 1961, it provides a forum for international political, business, and intellectual leaders. It manages ten regional centers and functional programs related to international security and global economic prosperity. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

It is a member of the Atlantic Treaty Association.

SNIP

In February 2009, James L. Jones, then-chairman of the Atlantic Council, stepped down in order to serve as President Obama's new National Security Advisor and was succeeded by Senator Chuck Hagel.[3] In addition, other Council members also left to serve the administration: Susan Rice as ambassador to the UN, Richard Holbrooke as the Special Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan, General Eric K. Shinseki as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and Anne-Marie Slaughter as Director of Policy Planning at the State Department. Four years later, Hagel stepped down to serve as US Secretary of Defense. Gen. Brent Scowcroft served as interim chairman of the organization's Board of Directors until January 2014, when former ambassador to China and governor of Utah Jon Huntsman, Jr.[4] was appointed.

The Atlantic Council has influential supporters, with former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen calling the Council a "pre-eminent think tank" with a "longstanding reputation",[5] and former U.S. Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN) noting that the Council is "held in high esteem within the Atlantic community".[6]

In September 2014, The Atlantic Council hired Call of Duty: Black Ops series director Dave Anthony as a nonresident senior fellow.[7]

SNIP

In September 2014, the New York Times reported that since 2008, the organization has received donations from more than twenty-five governments outside of the United States, including $5 million from Norway. . .[32]
