Host Jake Tapper pointed out that Mr. Trump, during the campaign, promised a “deportation force” to round up the more than 11 million immigrants in the country illegally. Ryan dismissed that idea.
“I’m here to tell you in Congress, it’s not happening.”
Instead, Ryan said Mr. Trump has asked lawmakers to focus on two priorities with respect to illegal immigration: securing the border and deporting immigrants who are violent, repeat criminals.
House GOP lawmakers and aides have also said recently they’re working on how to pay for border security to make good on Mr. Trump’s promise of building a wall on the border with Mexico, although at least initially taxpayers would foot the bill - not Mexico, as Mr. Trump promised.

Doesn't need to, does it? Illegal aliens are criminals according to existing laws. Executive branch has the authority to enforce those laws. Done.

It would be more humane to send the kids home with their parents than to break up families.
We don’t allow bank robbers to go free and keep the money because it might adversely affect their children to lock them up and take back the money.
Their situation is the fault of their parents. Taking a child illegally across national boundaries is tantamount to child abuse.
Under current law illegal aliens cannot apply for citizenship. They can only apply for citizenship if they go home and get in line like they should have done in the first place. If they wait until we have to deport them, they are barred from even applying for 10 years.
They should avoid the rush and go now.
We should not change laws to suit those breaking them.
We did that in 1986 and it resulted in 10 times the number of illegal aliens.

That’s not true. You can argue against it for other reasons but the USA could find and incarcerate 11 million people. It would probably take a few years but with the self deportation it could be done.
The USA has enough citizens to pick our own fruit.

Once again, cut off the freebies (ALL of them, including the use of public schools) and they’ll leave on their own. That’s the primary attraction to coming to the USA - living off of the tax slaves.
You obviously haven’t lived in a border state. Illegal’s children go to our schools not speaking one word of english. Many classes in California are taught in spanish, even if there are english-speaking American children in them. i know this first hand.
Illegal’s kids celebrate their home country’s holidays and identify as being mexican, guatemalan, etc - anything but American.
They don’t learn to be American from their parents. Where do you think they would learn it? Public schools? LOL!
