Sorry... I’m just not getting the motivation for this, I don’t really understand the politics (on either side) for a move like this.
Would have been 0; he’s CinC till noon....
What has happened in previous transitions?
Did the Guard commander, and others that would transition out, stay till the end of the day?
Did the incoming folks start at noon or earlier to overlap?
Article says there will be an interim person.
He is appointed by the President. So at 12:01 his resignation from his post as requested by new President.
As of noon on January 20th he can. And the general's appointment ends at 12:01.
This must have been ordered by the Trump transition team, since it will take effect the minute he is declared President. My guess is that they want to make sure the multiple threats to the Inaugural parade that have been published all over the Internet will be taken care of in Trump’s favor. The transition team must have had meetings and they possibly determined they could not trust the former leadership.
Trump wants someone in charge who wont be afraid to break the communist/anarchist protesters heads.
Shows he is SERIOUS about dealing with these degenerate animals once and for all.

Seems the Washington Post has a big ‘in’ with ‘intelligence services’.
Maybe this is a ‘warning’ to scare people off from attending. Or maybe they’re attempting to show how smart they are to ‘catch’ something before
‘it’ happens.
Or maybe they’re ‘in’ with the thugs who will attempt damage because they hate the people in flyover who will be attending.
Only time will tell the motive... for the act ...and for the insider coverage.

Read down in the story and it explains that the General submitted his letter of resignation, as all appointees have to do, and Trump accepted it. Trump has a Brig. General selected who will step in at 12:01pm and assume the full duties.
Trump has already requested the current Ambassadors submit their resignations effective Jan. 20, as well.
