That’s nice that they had a pleasant time in that cloistered world. Maybe the cat will lie down with the dog after all. Maybe they’ll wonder what the ruckus needed to be all about, decades from now.
And they were fairly well insulated from the political goings-on, as much as it would be possible to be.
This isn’t even like Jimmy Carter asking his minor daughter Amy about nuclear war. That seemed trendy at the time, but there was something unseemly about it too. This was not the time to bring Amy into that kind of limelight.
