Can Putin wait if Hussein orders an air attack on Russian bases in Syria tonight?

Short of an attack on Russian troops I would think Putin could wait for seven more days. I can not believe he wants to get into a hot war with the US even if provoked.

Obama is not acting in a vacuum. Others can see he is getting more irrational as his term ends.

Small comfort, but he can not personally call up the air force or navy and launch an attack. He has to go through the chain of command. At some point someone could say no (to an unlawful order).

The problem is we (the general public) do not know what is really going on.

Maybe it is time to invoke the 25th amendment.

Even the Israelis used surface to surface missiles to hit the Hezbollah stockpiles at an airbase so I seriously doubt the USAF would go along with air-strikes in Syria.

Surface to surface missiles are another matter since they worked for the Israelis. With no carriers in the Med at risk, Burkes could launch a lot of missiles in short order.
