Yes, Laredo is a cesspool. Amazing that all these years (decades) since I was young and going across the border, it's always been a depressed third world environment.

Matamoras and Tijuana are ever worse than Laredo.

My lil ol pinion, we shouldn't have troops half way around the world in Iraq/Afghanistan...they should be on our Southern border, pressing in to Messy-co by 5 miles or so to create a buffer zone of protection for Americans.

I lived in Matamoros and still live within a 10 minute walk from the bridge. It’s NOWHERE NEAR as bad as about 3 years ago. I visit almost daily, several times weekly and aside from the smell of the canals, its not THAT bad.

I was going to throw in my 2 cents about the time we walked across the border into the poop bucket that is Neuvo Laredo and barely got myself and my bride back without us getting raped, skinned, and murdered, while the Mexican police stood by and did nothing, but then I remembered it never happened.

That was Juarez where that happened.
