Hmmm. I wonder if this is an attempt to push that FBI misconduct helped to defeat Hillary and to further the Leftist assertion that Trump’s election is illegitimate. This investigation will keep the allegations alive and it is being started under the Obama Administration.

I think that is the number one explanation. There was a guy on CNN today - a former government official named Cohen - who was pushing the "Trump is illegitimate line" to the max.

Since the Obama Justice Department is beginning its final week, this is ominous; it suggests that the "Trump is illegitimate" theme is not going away soon, and has on-going support within the government bureaucracies and intelligence agencies.

I’ve already seen it mooted around on lib websites that Comey was in cahoots with Putin. They will try to set up a Russian-FBI connection, then look to show that Trump was in on it, too.

One way or another, they will try to set up an impeachment case against Trump - not only to cripple his Presidency, but ultimately to remove him.
