In a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times Maureen Dowd on Wednesday, billionaire tech giant Peter Thiel defended his support of President-Elect Donald Trump and offered some characteristically esoteric opinions on everything from Meryl Streep to Star Wars.
To a question noting that President Obama had eight years without any ethical shadiness, Thiel replied, But theres a point where no corruption can be a bad thing. It can mean that things are too boring.

As has been said elsewhere, “Someone has to mine the dilithium crystals.”
Star Trek is clearly marxist.
granted it has been years since I read it, but the novel of Star Trek the Motionless Picture made mention of Kirk having saved up a hefty amount of salary/credits in his savings account during the 5 year mission.
Did you ever read any of the novels Shatner wrote? They’re about Kirk fighting evil mirror universe Kirk. They’re actually very good! Granted, it’s been about 15 years since I read one! Could be my tastes have improved by then.
FTA: President obama had eight years without any ethical shadiness, Thiel replied, But theres a point where no corruption can be a bad thing. It can mean that things are too boring.
He is very stupid or a liar.
Gene Roddenberry wrote words to the Star Trek music that another person had written. The words were never used in any episode but Roddenberry would get residuals anytime Star Trek was on the air. The original writer of the music was ticked off about it.
Honestly, I’d say Star Trek and Star Wars are BOTH communist in different ways, neither of which are good (then again, when is Marxism/communism EVER good?). Star Trek follows the blueprint of Marx that was officially disseminated (the whole “to each according to his needs according to his own will” garbage). Star Wars, likewise, promoted the practical reality of communism (and Marx’s intention for communism to be an even more gorn remake of the 1793 Reign of Terror as stated in correspondences between himself and Engels) of mass murder for fun plus constant anarchy and tried to promote it as a good thing (don’t forget, the Rebel Alliance was specifically envisioned by George Lucas as being Vietcong expies, while America’s closest equivalent in that series was in fact the Empire).

Also the Ferengi are a sort of smear against capitalism. The Klingons From what I've heard on different forums attack red neck Christians and the Borg is an attack on Christians in General especially since the descriptions of New Jerusalem in the bible are similar to a Borg Cube.
Replicators need raw material to operate. And if everyone is equal in the future, I want that sweet apartment overlooking the Bay. Kirk’s no more deserving than me.
