Melania Trump is from a part of Soviet Union? Slovenia being part of former Soviet Union? Have you ever looked at the map of Europe?
Slovenia was one of the seven constituent “republics” of Yugoslavia, which was a communist country for 45 years, ruled by Tito. I believe Slovenia became independent around 1990 when the former Yugoslavia fell apart.
The map would not matter as many of the countries of Eastern Europe were part of the Soviet Block/Eastern Bloc and were basically ruled by the Soviet Union. Yugoslavia borders on them.
That being said although Yugoslavia, and thus Slovenia, were communist they managed to stay out of the Soviet Block.
