Reagan was certainly an antidote.
Three of us gathered during his first inauguration, smoked MANY fine cigars, consumed copious quantities of strong drink and still managed to walk out the door and all the way to our beds without a misstep.
Our eldest daughter still tells stories about that Grown-up Slumber Party her dad had that night.
(Which reminds me....I’ve still gotta get another bottle of JW Double Black before the 20th.)
