Georgetown Professor Michael Eric Dyson is proposing the idea that white people should have an ‘Individual Reparations Account’ to make donations to black institutions and individuals.
The idea is part of his forthcoming book, “Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America.”
Dyson made the argument during an interview with Ana Marie Cox in the January 8 edition of the New York Times Magazine.

At the end of your sermon, you do a “benediction” section, in which you talk about making reparations on the local and individual level: donating to groups like the United Negro College Fund or a scholarship program, but also, to cite your example from the book, paying “the black person who cuts your grass double what you might ordinarily pay.” That gave me pause!
Good! I used to say in church, “If the sermon ain’t making you a little bit uncomfortable, it ain’t effective.” Look, if it doesn’t cost you anything, you’re not really engaging in change; you’re engaging in convenience. You’re engaged in the overflow. I’m asking you to do stuff you wouldn’t ordinarily do. I’m asking you to think more seriously and strategically about why you possess what you possess.
I agree with reparations, but maybe this is my white privilege speaking: I can’t imagine actually doing that.
That is what I meant by an I.R.A.: an individual reparations account. You ain’t got to ask the government, you don’t have to ask your local politician — this is what you, an individual, conscientious, “woke” citizen can do.
But charity can’t be the end of it, right? The Koch brothers gave the United Negro College Fund $25 million, but I doubt you would consider them “woke.”

I know some guys who came here directly from Africa. Really great guys. Both of these gentlemen are very black.
I’d use them for security if I could. One has many wounds from fighting in the Sudan. He showed me one or two of his scars. 7.62 or so. Ouch. The scar on his arm is really long.

This is a fantastic Idea! I think the left should make this the hallmark of the campaign for POTUS in the next potentially competitive race, in 2024.
I would love for this mentally challenged person to find one instance of me or my family from my kids to my ancestors; of any of us doing anything to black people.

There were THOUSANDS of black slave owners. There were black slave breeders. Affirmative action professors need to educate themselves.

Sounds like a good idea to me ONLY IF they make all of the Blacks pay into a restitution program that is set up for WHITE indentured servants who were forced into financial slavery to pay the debits of themselves or family that they were unable to pay. Yep! We had white slaves too!
However, with today’s BLACK history books that little tidbit is not taught any longer.

My ancestors didn’t own slaves, they died on the trail of tears. I believe I am owed reparations long before ANY black man is. They fed and clothed them they stole our clothes and mixed our food on the ground with Horse manure. Do tell all about your ancestors being black slaves, I’ll tell you about mine being dead Cherokee.

Since entering the workforce in the later 1960s, I have paid taxes that are inflated and been subjected to national debt that is inflated, both of which have had a large component of its makeup to funding minority and/or supposed disadvantaged programs.
I have spent my entire working life of 50 years paying “reparations” under their scheme and it has made them less free, more damaged and dependent than if I had not been required to spent a portion of my labor every day funding stupid leftist schemes.
Thomas Sowell has defined this treatment of them as making them “mascots” in the game of life. They don’t get to be real players because their rolls are defined by the Left.
How about an:

Repatriate your black ass back to Africa.

A degenerate like this has to have a thing for large black dudes and this is his tribute to the aberration. There just is no other explanation for writing a nonsensical screed like this that will sell less than 50 copies.
Reparations are not necessary. The ancestors of slaves don’t need to pay for their ancestors having been brought out of Africa and taken to America. Sure, had they been left behind they would have been either killed by their neighbor tribesmen that captured them, or sold to Muslim nations that would have castrated the males - but it is all good. Their descendants don’t need to pay for their ancestors having won this life’s lottery - what is past is past. Look towards the future, don’t dwell on the past.
