The winning streak doesnt end. You know who Alibaba is? China's answer to Amazon which markets Chinese-manufactured products. Why give them any assistance?

Why not give Amazon, who’s owned by Compost Owner Bezos, some competition?

Amazon could stand a little competition. Remember that Jeff Bezos now owns the Washington Post and worked hard to defeat Trump and elect Hillary Clinton this past election cycle.
Jeff is probably crapping in his pants right now.

Yeah, alibaba is BAD news. Trump should get far away from those predator Chicoms. They are pumping garbage into the US thanks to a sweet heart air mail deal with USPS.

I hear ya there, though the government shouldn’t so much be in the business of helping or hurting companies.
But Bezos is also basically at ground zero for anti-Trump propaganda with his Washington Post.
So even if I were picking winners, it could be a tough call.

I do, and I have ordered direct from Alibaba too saving $60 on a specialty computer keyboard ($60 less than Amazon). As for Amazon they market Chinese made junk as well, but while Amazon is steadily replacing workers with robots, Alibaba per this article actually plans to hire a million workers in the US.

And do you know how much of Amazon is made in China? I would guess 60-80% of their website is. Also, as Alibaba starts moving into the US some (one million jobs isn't bad), that starts to open their company up to sales in the opposite direction - small US companies selling directly to consumers in China. Amazon doesn't have a chance with that market since it's a foreign company, but Alibaba is a Chinese company, and will have a much easier time with the Chinese government in getting that to work. Finally, here's a pretty detailed informative link about how the manufacturing has moved out of the US and is difficult to bring back:
