They did drop the Ranger domestically because it was competing with the full-size F150. Bad move, I agree. The new Ranger reportedly will be very similar to the one sold in Australia, available in standard cab, extended cab and four door crew cab configurations. It's a good-looking vehicle in my opinion, larger than the previous Ranger but not huge. Comparable in size to the new Chevy Colorado pickups.

Thanks for the info. As SoCal Pubbie noted, no one is making small pickup trucks in the U.S. these days. I wish Ford would quit fooling around and just grab that market.

If I wanted a Colorado-size pickup, I'd have bought one by now. I need something smaller.

You can also buy those all day long in Mexico and central America, Options include the four door cab and small efficient diesel.

I spent some months trying to find one or at least the cab on this side of the Rio Grande without luck.

I just bought a Chevy Colorado last November.

I didn't want a full size and that was just about the only thing on the market made by a US auto maker.

So far, I like it quite a bit.

Recently Ford and Chevy have gone in opposite directions with their wheel arch styling. Chevy went square whereas Ford went with semicircles. To my eye the Chevy square lines look a lot better. What’s funny is I notice the 2004 Bronco concept has square arches. I wish Ford would return to that look.
