‘Declining to perform in the face of pressure is the sign of weakness in character. People who cave like that are basically admitting they are moral cowards’

Andrea Bocelli is BLIND. It has nothing to do with weakness of Character.

“Andrea Bocelli is BLIND. It has nothing to do with weakness of Character.”

*****************

I don’t get the point of your post at all. So he’s blind. He performs all over the world, most recently at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He was invited to perform at the inauguration but declined after taking “too much heat” from his fans on social media who were intimidating him with a #BoycottBocelli hashtag.

Here is a renowned star of international fame with all the logistical benefits and security protection you could think of, yet he backs down out of fear of a hashtag and a little intimidation by people who are no more than a bunch of snowflakes and political zealots who are out to disrupt the time honored and traditional inauguration ceremonies of a new president.

He did not do the honorable thing which is to always stand on principle. What does his blindness have to do with it? This is a character issue.

One of his most memorable songs is “Because We Believe” which says:

Once in every life
There comes a time
We walk out all alone
And into the light

I wonder if he see’s the irony in what he himself wrote?
